What is microblading?

Microblading is a form of semi permanent makeup, also known as eyebrow embroidery or feathering.

What is used to microblade?

Microblading/microshading is done using a small hand-held device and/or a PMU machine that is made up of several tiny needles.

Does microblading hurt?

Two types of numbing creams are used. One is for closed skin, and one is for open skin. You may still feel pressure, mild discomfort, or mild pain as everyone is different.

Is microblading safe for everyone?

Microblading is suitable for most people. However, if you have one of the following conditions, this procedure may not be right for you.

  • Pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Currently on accutane or within the past six months
  • Botox/fillers in the forehead or brow area within the past month
  • Taking blood thinning medication
  • Undergoing chemotherapy (requires doctor's clearance/note)
  • Skin irritations, blemishes near the brow area
  • Diabetic (require doctor’s clearance/note)
  • Has any viral infections or diseases
  • Epilepsy
  • Prone to Keloids
  • Very oily skin (may be a candidate for powder brows)
  • Eczema, Keratosis, Dermatitis, Rosacea, or Psoriasis
  • Hemophilia or tends to excessively bleed with minor cuts
  • Anemia

Before & After Care

How to prepare for your microblading appointment

  • Do not tweeze, wax, thread or have electrolysis done on your face one week before the procedure.
  • Do not tan two weeks prior or have a sunburnt face.
  • Do not have any type of facials two weeks prior to treatment.
  • Do not work out within 8 hours before the procedure.
  • Please shower the morning of your procedure.
  • Do not take fish oil, vitamin E or any blood thinning vitamins one week prior to treatment.
  • Do not tint your eyebrows 4 days before the procedure.
  • Do not drink alcohol within the 24 hours prior to the procedure.
  • Do not consume coffee or caffeine 4 hours before your procedure.
  • Do not take Ibuprofen (Advil) within 24 hours before your procedure.

How to take care of your newly microbladed brows

  • Blot with a Kleenex a few times for the first few hours to clear the lymphatic drainage.
  • Do not wash brows the same day of your appointment.
  • On day 2 to 10, wash the brows twice a day (morning and night).
  • To wash, use water and fragrance free baby soap.
  • Gently wipe from the head of the brow to the tail using only your fingers.
  • After you've washed your brows gently, apply a thin layer of your brow ointment.
  • Do not pick or pull your scabs.

Avoid the following 10-14 days after your Microblading procedure

  • Excessive sweating
  • Sports, gym, hot yoga
  • Saunas, hot baths, pools or hot tubs
  • Tanning (salon or sun)
  • Excessive sun exposure to face
  • Facial laser treatments or chemical peels
  • Creams containing Retin-A or Glycolic acid
  • Picking, peeling, or scratching of the brow area
  • Makeup on the brow area
